Professional Drainage Protects Your Home

Ground water pooling in your garden or yard is a sure sign you need drainage, or if you have it, that it's blocked. If left unattended, the water will find the path of least resistance which may well be toward your building.

New or unblocked drains will allow you to control the course of the water and prevent any potential damage to your home or building.

Building the Drain

When our specialists lay drainage no steps are skipped as they ensure a comprehensive and professional job.

The key steps to building a drain are:

  1. Identify all the problem areas where water is pooling.
  2. Dig out the drain trench, starting where the water is pooling and ending where you want the water to drain to.
    • Typically the trench will be a minimum of 30cms deep and 15 cms wide. It may well be deeper and or wider depending on the specifics of the problem, the land composition, the land fall, and the final exit point.
  3. We lay approximately 5 cms of rock or gravel in the trench and then lay the piping.
  4. We then cover the piping, on the sides and above, with a further 5cms of rock or gravel before filling the remaining space with earth.
  5. Finally, we replace the initial sods of grass or seed new grass depending on the quality of the original turf.
